Attorney Szu-Yu was born and raised in Hsinchu, Taiwan. Upon finishing high school in Taiwan, Attorney Szu-Yu came to the United States to pursue his legal education starting at obtaining his Bachelor degree in Economics at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2001. Prior to receiving his Juris Doctor Degree in the last semester at Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Attorney Szu-Yu did a full time internship in 2005 under Jeff Adachi, the Public Defender of San Francisco.
Attorney Szu-Yu has been practicing law since 2006. Prior to opening his own law firm, Attorney Szu-Yu practiced immigration law at a boutique firm in Las Vegas for about three years between 2007 and 2009. As an active member of American Immigration Lawyers Association(AILA) in Las Vegas, Attorney Szu-Yu was the AILA national liaison for the New Member Division for the State of Nevada in 2009 and Lobby Day Committee Liaison of Southern California Chapter in 2010.
Attorney Szu-Yu is an Ambassador for American Immigration Council, a non-profit organization that serves to strengthen America by honoring our immigrant history and shaping how
Americans think and act towards immigration now and in the future. The American Immigration Council exists to promote the prosperity and
cultural richness of our diverse nation by:
1. Educating
citizens about the enduring contributions of America's immigrants; 2.
Standing up for sensible and humane immigration policies that reflect
American values; 3. Insisting that our immigration laws be enacted
and implemented in a way that honors fundamental constitutional and
human rights;
4. Working tirelessly to achieve justice and fairness
for immigrants under the law.
Attorney Szu-Yu is an active member of the State Bar of New Mexico, United States Tax Court, United States Court of International Trade, and United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Attorney Szu-Yu is current serving as immigration Of-Counsel for Kaplan & Associates (Trusts and Estates; Business Planning; Taxation) and Lin Law Group (General Practice) of Las Vegas, NV as well as Continental Legal Group of Antioch, TN.
